Industry focus bank management

The banking industry is undergoing a dynamic development process. Not only are new service providers in the form of FinTechs entering the market as competitors or cooperation partners as a result of digitalisation, but there are also a variety of opportunities for banks. With the implementation of an omni-channel strategy, the sales potentials are adapted to the use of the various access channels in a customer-oriented manner. With flagship branches and video service consultations, personal contact with the customer can be maintained and the connection of specialists can be simplified.

The career prospects are diverse: from investment and asset management, private and corporate client services to overall bank management, human resources management and marketing. In addition to commercial banks and development institutions, future employers may also include, for example, building societies, auditing companies, consulting firms and finance and controlling departments of private and public companies. You can lay the foundation for this career with a dual study programme at one of our partner companies.

Study contents

During your studies, you will learn in the four modules Branchen BWL I to IV, each with eight semester hours per week, how to advise clients in the following areas, among others: Private pension provision, investment in sustainable funds and energy-efficient construction financing with the inclusion of public subsidies. Furthermore, you will be able to manage a bank in a result- and risk-oriented manner, taking into account the supervisory requirements.

Credit Points

The modules usually end with a written exam or, in some modules, with a term paper. You receive five credit points for each exam you pass.

Additional degrees

In addition to the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, you can complete a commercial vocational qualification during the three-year degree programme. Furthermore, there is the additional option of obtaining a trainer's qualification in accordance with the Ordinance on Trainer's Qualification (AEVO). The trainer's certificate is the formal authorisation to train in a company later on.
